Sri Lankan demonstrators invaded the mansion of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa as well as his office located nearby to express their rage about the country's ongoing economic problems.
As the leaders of Sri Lanka attempt to negotiate a bailout with the International Monetary Fund, the country's economy is currently in the process of collapsing.
Protests have been going on for months as people's tolerance has worn thin because there have been persistent shortages of gasoline, medicine, and cooking gas, and oil reserves have run dry.
The Rajapaksa family has been the target of much of the public's ire, with protestors accusing them for plunging Sri Lanka into disarray as a result of their actions.
Ranil Wickremesinghe, the current prime minister, has indicated that he will step down once all of the major parties have settled on a new administration.
