New York: Recent polling data indicates a highly competitive 2024 presidential election, with former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris in a virtual deadlock in several key battleground states.
The RealClearPolitics (RCP) average, covering July 30 to August 14, shows Harris leads Trump narrowly by 1.0 percentage points, with Harris at 48.1% and Trump at 47.1%. This slim lead underscores just how tight the race is.
The polling landscape is complex and fluctuating. Harris appears to have a slight edge in several surveys, particularly those from Emerson College, NPR/PBS/Marist, and SurveyUSA, where her lead ranges from 2 to 4 percentage points. Conversely, Trump is performing strongly in polls from Rasmussen Reports and CNBC, where he is ahead by up to 4 percentage points.
These varying results highlight the volatility of the race and the crucial role of battleground states. The narrow margins suggest that voter sentiment could shift significantly as Election Day approaches.
